After public tender, at the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture Tihomir Jakovina, Management board of the Croatian Food Agency (HAH) appointed Ms Andrea Gross-Bosković as a new director of HAH. The new director is elected at the end of a five-year mandate of the former director Dr Zorica Jurkovic, and she has started her mandate on1 July 2013.
Andrea Gross-Boskovic, B. Sc. of food technology and biotechnology, has been working in HAH, since its establishment in 2005, at the position of head of the Risk assessment department. She served as acting deputy director in period June 2007- June 2008.
Ms Gross-Boskovic was a member of the working group for the EU negotiation preparation – the acquis communautaire, Chapter 12 – Food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy.
She is actively involved in the committees for harmonization and adoption of legislation in the field of food safety at the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Health and is a member of EFSA’s working groups – Scientific Network on Harmonisation of Risk Assessment methodologies and Emerging Risks Exchange Network.
She is attending postgraduate PhD study in Food Technology at the University of Osijek, Faculty of Food Technology and currently is making her doctoral thesis on the Department for milk and dairy products.
